Following the lockdown and the accompanying restrictions, we have had to devise new ways to provide our services. Our clients have also had to adapt to the new normal of having meetings by Skype, Zoom and telephone.

We understand that at a time when there is so much uncertainty and fear, knowing that your legal services are there to support you and that we will be here for whatever you need is so vital.

Divorce and separation are stressful processes and being forced by public health restrictions to live together with your soon-to-be ‘ex’ may not be easy.

Divorces can still be issued in the usual way. They can – in principle – proceed online all the way to decree absolute. Courts are currently having to prioritise their work and some categories are deemed ‘essential’ while others are not. If the court can deal with a case it is likely to do so remotely – as long as this will not prejudice a fair hearing.

If you need advice on divorce or any aspect of relationship breakdown, get in touch with us. Our Family department is still providing a full range of legal services, albeit remotely for now.
