Ian Wessels has been part of our Tassells team since 2002, qualifying as a Solicitor in 2004. As many of you will know, he was the backbone of our Private Client Department. His charm, kind-heartedness and patience towards his clients, particularly the elderly, was much admired. At the end of December, however, we said a sad farewell to Ian, as he relocated to Derby with his wife for a new chapter in their lives. Ian, when you read this, we wish you all the very best.
Our Private Client Department continues to be led by Dr Ann Astbury MB BS BSc TEP 1, 2, 3, with assistance now from our trainee Richard Godley.
Ann studied medicine at Guy’s Hospital before converting to Law, and was admitted as a solicitor in 1994. She has been a partner at Tassells since 2000, specialising firstly in family law (as a Resolution Accredited Specialist) and then private client.
Richard joined Tassells in 2017 as a trainee solicitor and due to qualify in October this year. Before he joined Tassells, he spent a number of years as a caseworker and manager in different advice charities, assisting people of various backgrounds on issues such as Employment, Family, Housing, Benefits and Debt. Richard also spent some time specialising in providing advice and support to people with sight loss.
