All businesses should have standard terms of business. These will operate to explain the service being offered to customers, and most importantly, limit liability.
Terms of business should be tailored to meet the needs of the particular concern. Copying someone else’s terms or looking for something on the internet is not the solution.
Some terms are implied by statute and you may need to refer to them explicitly to avoid dire consequences, e.g. payments being unrecoverable because cancellation rights have not been notified.*
Standard terms should be deployed correctly: if you send them out at the wrong time, they won’t work.
We are happy to help anyone who wishes to create terms of business, review existing terms, help understand how to use what you have created effectively, or deal with problems arising from another party’s terms.
